Studio apartments in Málaga are the most practical choice for couples and independent travellers who want to stay in the city centre or close to the sea, with their own kitchen and all the freedom of an apartment. At Living4malaga we bring together holiday studios and lofts in the Historic Centre, Soho, by the port and in Pedregalejo. They are ready for short breaks of a few days or stays of several weeks, with direct booking and a local team that looks after you from the moment you book until you hand back the keys.
If you are travelling with more people and need separate bedrooms, our selection of holiday accommodation in Málaga includes one, two and three-bedroom apartments spread across the same neighbourhoods.
For two people, a studio is just the right size. It is a single, well-planned space with a sleeping area, a living room and a kitchen. Everything is within reach, and you are not paying for square metres you will never use. In a city like Málaga, where life happens outdoors, that makes a lot of sense.
Picture a typical day. You head out in the morning for a mollete, the soft local bread roll, with olive oil and tomato. You spend the day between museums and terraces, with a swim at the beach somewhere in between. Then you go back to your Málaga home only to shower, change and head out again as the sun goes down. What more do you need? A well-located studio lets you spend your budget on the things you will actually remember about the trip.
There is one thing we locals love that gets lost in a hotel. With your own kitchen you can walk down to the Atarazanas Market, pick up fresh anchovies and some tomatoes from the local farms, and put together a relaxed dinner at home. That is how you start to live Málaga like a neighbour.
Each property in this selection has its own personality, but they all share the same level of comfort, designed to make you feel at home from the first minute:
Behind every booking there are people who know the building, the street and the bar on the corner. We give you clear arrival instructions and we are here to help if anything unexpected comes up.
The size of the studio matters, but the location shapes the whole trip. These are the neighbourhoods where our properties are found, and what you can expect from each one.
Staying in the heart of Málaga means having Calle Larios, the Cathedral, the Picasso Museum and the Roman Theatre just a short walk away. In the morning the old town smells of coffee and freshly fried churros. At night the squares fill with terraces and conversations in several languages.
On the other side of the Alameda, Soho has a more creative character, with street art murals, the CAC Málaga contemporary art centre, small galleries and speciality coffee shops. If that atmosphere appeals to you, our page on the Soho district in Málaga shows every apartment we have in the neighbourhood. It is an easy area to explore on foot and it is well connected to both the bus station and the train station.
Muelle Uno is one of the favourite sunset walks for people in Málaga, with the colourful cube of the Centre Pompidou and the old lighthouse in the background. A studio in this area places you between the old town and La Malagueta beach, just a few minutes’ walk from both.
Imagine ending the day with a stroll by the sea and walking home without needing any transport at all. If you want city and beach in the same break, it is hard to find a better spot.
Pedregalejo still feels like the old fishing quarter it once was, with low houses facing the promenade and beach bars where sardine skewers, the famous espetos, are grilled in small boats filled with sand. It is the side of Málaga many locals choose for a long Sunday lunch by the sea.
A studio here suits travellers who are looking for rest, with an early morning swim and dinners to the sound of the waves. The city centre is about twenty minutes away by bus. If being close to the sand is your priority, you can also browse our beach apartments in Málaga.
Both share the idea of an open-plan space, but each one feels different to live in. A studio is usually a compact single floor, with the bed set within the living area and a separate full bathroom. It works really well for short stays.
A loft plays with height. You get higher ceilings, sometimes a mezzanine or a visual divide between the bedroom area and the living room, and a greater sense of space within the same square metres. If you plan to spend more time indoors, whether working remotely or resting during siesta time, a loft in Málaga will give you more breathing room. This selection includes both, so you can choose the one that fits the way you travel.
Most of our guests book a studio for a long weekend or a week’s holiday. We also welcome people who come to Málaga for an internship, or for a season of remote working in the winter sunshine.
For those longer stays we offer specific terms for mid-term accommodation in Málaga, with furnished homes ready to move into. You will not need to buy furniture or set up utilities. Tell us your dates and we will let you know which options suit your stay best.
We have been welcoming travellers for years, and these are the tips we share most often with first-time guests:
When you arrive, just ask us. We love sharing our favourite places and helping you find the local experience you came for.
Our studios are designed mainly for two people, whether a couple or two friends who do not need separate bedrooms. Some properties in the selection can host one extra guest on a sofa bed. You will find the exact capacity on each listing.
In a studio the sleeping area shares the same space as the living room and kitchen, while a one-bedroom apartment has a separate, enclosed bedroom. A studio is usually more affordable and practical for short stays, and an apartment offers more privacy if you keep different schedules.
It depends on your plans. The Historic Centre and Soho are ideal if you want to walk between museums, tapas bars and nightlife. The port area combines city and beach, and Pedregalejo is the choice for those who put the sea and a slower pace first.
Yes. You can book anything from a few nights to a long stay. For one month or more, we recommend checking our mid-term rental options, with terms adapted to people coming to work or study for a season.
Yes, every property in this category has a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette for preparing simple meals. It is one of the big advantages over a hotel room, especially for stays of more than two or three days.
The easiest and cheapest option is the Cercanías commuter train, which connects the airport with María Zambrano station and Centro-Alameda. There is also an express bus to the city centre and a taxi rank. Before you arrive, we send you directions right to the door.
